Ladies Sing The Blues Perform Live

Welcome to the official site of Ladies Sing The Blues

Reunited at the Waiheke Winter Blues Festival 2010, three of the original Auckland Blues Divas are back performing together after 25 years. Mahia Blackmore, Truda Chadwick and Katy Soljak packed out The Dunes, Onetangi Beach as the headlining act of the festival. The enthusiastic crowd would not let the ladies finish, calling out for all three together on stage at the end. The blues ladies impromptu version of "Bring It On Home," got the crowd on its feet and cheering  for more.

Known for their strong voices, rich harmonies, and bluesy elegance, the original show became hugely popular in Auckland in the late 80's, packing out the Sheraton Ballroom at the International Jazz and Blues Festival in 1986.

Hattie St. John went to Amsterdam to pursue a Jazz career, Katy Soljak moved to California to write songs and play with American blues musicians, and Maria Monet  completed a career in counselling psychology. Mahia and Truda morphed the Ladies Sing The Blues into the Women In Blues, which continued into early 90's, and focussed on original blues songwriting.

The reunited Ladies Sing The Blues show includes a combination of the singers' original blues songs and some great classics like "Meet Me With Your bBack Drawers On","Still Got The Blues,'"and "Spoonful."
